The second day action of game week 27 saw Abdou Matalabou Outtara’s heroics saw Mechal move within three points gap from leaders while Dire stun Kidus Giorgis.
The early kickoff saw Mechal snatching a late victory over Fasil Kenema to make grounds for themselves in the title race.
In what was a very intense affair Mechal who needed to came out with all the three points to capitalize on Nigd Bank’s blip, and they were given a tough test from Fasil Kenema.
But the Togolese Abdou Matalabou Outtara was once again the hero for Mechal as he yet again came from the bench to score an 86th minute winner for his side in style.
The win meant Mechal are now three points away from leaders Ethiopia Nigd Bank with three games left to play.
In the late kickoff Kidus Giorgis were once again defeated this season, this time they lost to Dire Dawa Ketema as Temesgen Derese’s 48th minute strike gave Dire a much needed three points increasing their point tally for the season to 40 points.
