The opening day action of game week 28 saw Fasil Kenema punishing Shashemene Ketema while Wolkite twice came from behind to salvage a point from Hawassa after seven consecutive losses.
The 3pm kickoff saw wasteful Shashemene Ketema once again punished this time they went out to lose 2-1 against Fasil Kenema.
As seen in recent match weeks Shashemene Ketema had a bright start into the first half creating enough chances to take the lead but as always they couldn’t find that killer instinct.
Shashemene’s poor execution infront of goal made Fasil stay alive and eventually went on to take the lead, on the 78th minute Fekadu Alemu converted from the spot to give them the breakthrough.
In the added minutes of the second half Fikadu Alemu scored to extend Fasil’s lead while seconds later Huzaf Ali scored the conciliation goal for Shashemene Ketema.
The 2-1 victory means Fasil Kenema increasing their point tally into 43 points while they remain in 7th place, while Shashemene Ketema remain 15th with 14 points.
In the late kickoff Hawassa Ketema secured a 2-1 victory over Wolkite Ketema to make up for their last week’s horror show.
Abdulbasit Kemal gave Hawassa Ketema the lead in the 32nd minute but Gadisa Mebrate’s succesful spot kick against his former side made the score line even.
In the 64th minute league’s top goal scorer Ali Sulieman once again restored the lead for Hawassa Ketema and yet again Wolkite Ketema were up for a fight as Gadisa Mebrate restored parity in the 82nd minute.
Today’s solitary point is the first point Wolkite Ketema earned after a run of 7 succesive losses meaning they now have 17 points in 14th place three points clear of Shashemene Ketema while Hawassa Ketema are 10th with 37 points.
