The opening day fixture of game week 25 saw league leaders Ethiopia Nigd Bank out classing Wolaita Dicha while Fasil edge Wolkite in what was a very cagey game of football.
First up in the 3pm kickoff league leaders Ethiopia Nigd Bank were to much to handel for Wolaita Dicha as they were outplayed to a humiliating 5-0 defeat.
In what was a very one sided affair Ethiopia Nigd Bank spent a day to remember asserting themselves to a total control from onset till the end.
An own goal from Fitsum Girma opened the scoring for Nigd Bank while Simon Peter and Basiru Omar added two goals in the first hald whereas after the restart Efream Tamirat and Kitika Jimma added two more.
Following todays emphatic win Ethiopia Nigd Bank have now 53 points at the summit of the log while off form Wolkite are still on 12th with 28 points.
In the late kickoff the teacher got the better of his student as Fasil edge Wolkite Ketema 1-0.
Wubetu Abate’s who is now training Fasil came up against his former assistant at Hawassa Ketema who is now managing Wolkite in a match where both sides where in a desperate need of three points.
The match played under heavy shower was cagey as both sides opted to be more content in their approach meaning Getaneh Kebede’s 16th minute strike against his former employees proved to be the difference at the end of the 90 minutes.
Todays win increased Fasil’s point tally into 40 points moving them temporarily to 4th place while Wolkite Ketema who need points to evade the drop are still 14th with 16 points.
