Debutants Kenya Police progress to the next round of Total Energies CAF Confederation Cup crashing Ethiopia Bunna at home turf.
The return leg of the first preliminary round of the Total Energies CAF Confederation Cup are taking place across the weekend, Ethiopia Bunna hosted Kenya Police at the Abebe Bikila Stadium.
Ethiopia Bunna made a single change from the side that earned a hard fought draw in Nayayo international stadium as the change saw summer recruit Dawit Shiferaw making way for Surafel while visitors Kenya Police made five changes from their starting XI as Francis Kahata , Jackson Macharia ,Alvin Mang’eni, David Okoth, Clinton Kinanga were on from the get go in place of Musa Brian, Tyson Otieno ,Zakayo Eric, Owiti Jaffari , Leku Alfred.
Ethiopia Bunna who are back into continental football after 12 years absence had the majority share off the ball but couldn’t capitalize on that dominance while Kenya Police who opted to play on the counter had the better of the chances.
In the 25th minute South Sudanese international Toha Rashid put the visitors ahead.
After the restart it was Ethiopia Bunna dominating the ball but a cautious Kenya Police didn’t give the chance to have a go at their goal, meaning Kenya Police edge Bunna 1-0 on aggregate score.
The result meant Kenya Police who are on their maiden continental journey progress into the second round of the preliminary round where they will face the mighty Zamalek Sc of Egypt.
