Emebet Addisu Send Ethiopia Nigd Bank To The Elusive Final

Ethiopia Nigd Bank will face Kenya Police Bullets in the CAF womens Champions league CECAFA qualifiers final.

Nigd Bank were very assertive from the get go as they missed three fantastic chances through Senaf Wakuma Nigist Hailu and Aregash Kalsa but Kawempe Muslim Ladies goalie Josephine Nambuye was equal to the tasks.

After those sustained early attacks Kawempe Muslim Ladies start to grow more into the game as they tighten their defensive structure and also started to play long balls targeting Shadiya Nabirye and Hadijah Nandago but they lacked that cutting edge.

Also Ethiopia Nigd Bank swaped their wingers Aregash and Nigist to revitalize their attacking play but finding their focal point Senaf Wakuma wasn’t easy.

It took Ethiopia Nigd Bank nearly 40 minutes to have an attempt on goal, in the 43rd minute Senaf Wakuma had her say from outside the box but it was easily handled by Kawempe Muslim Ladies goalie.

In the 45th minute after a beautiful exchange of passes Mesay Temesgen’s composed finish from inside the box saw Ethiopia Nigd Bank taking the lead going into the break.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies made two positive changes coming into the second half, the early exchanges were very cagey.

But as time goes by Kawempe seem to take the upper hand and eventually went on the level matters in 59th minute through Shadiya Nabirye.

Nigd Bank head coach Birhanu Gizaw introduced Sara Hassen in place of Aregash Kalsa while Senaf Wakuma was instructed to drop deep to link the forward line with the rest of the team.

On the 70th minute Agnes Nbukenya attempt direct from a long range free kick needed strong hands from Tarikwa Bergena to keep the score line one all, and two minutes latter Taikwa was called into action to deny Kawempe Muslim Ladies the second goal.

On the contrary Senaf Wakuma had he dig from a long range shot but Josephine Nambuye was equal to it.

In the 90th minute Nigd Bank’s midfield pivot Emebet Addisu’s bullet of shot from long range found its way past Josephine Nambuye to sent Ethiopia Nigd Bank to the elusive final.

In the other semi final fixture Kenya Police Bullets earn a hard fought 3-2 win against Simba Queens of Tanzania to book their place in the final.
