Ethiopian international Salahdin Said has departed Algerian giants MC Alger after failing to break in to the starting XI. Said joined MC Alger on a free transfer following termination of his contract with the ‘Club of the Century’, Al Ahly of Egypt.
Said’s days at Algiers were numbered from the start as he struggled to find more playing time. He only made 5 appearances in Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 Mobilis scoring none. Salah only managed to score a goal in a friendly game against RC Arbaa.
MC Alger owner Sonatrach, the stated owned energy firm, were critical of Said’s move to the club claiming he earns a large amount of salary. The company had been captious over the budget of the club and their payroll system as it hits high. The oil and gas producer begun a restructuring aimed at saving money last October owing to the dramatic slide in global oil price.
