Ethiopia Nigd Bank were triumphed over Diredawa Ketema 3-0 in the first round of the Ethiopian Cup game. Sidama Bunna piped Dashen Bira 1-0 while Adama Ketema emerged victorious on penalty against Electric to qualify for the quarter final.
Adama Ketema beat Electric on 8-7 on penalties to register a place in the quarter final. Ashenafi Bekele’s side broke the deadlock 9 minutes after the kick off through former Mekelakeya striker Chala Diriba. Behailu Teshager of Electric leveled matters in the second half as he struck in the 69th minute.
The score tied up at one all draw, both teams went to a penalty shootouts. Eventually, Adama progressed to the next round winning 8-7 on penalties.
Dashen Bira’s miserable season continues as they lost their third successive game in all competition. Addis Gigey’s first half strike was enough to hand Zelalem Shiferaw’s side an important win.
Nigerian Philip Dauzi was the hero as Ethiopia Nigd Bank crushed Easterners Diredawa Ketema. Dauzi scored in each half to complete his brace whilst winger Sisay Tolli struck deep into the stoppage time. Mesert Manni’s Diredawa are winless in their last two visits to the capital in all competition.
