Sidama Bunna slipped to a 3-1 defeat to ArbaMinch Ketema in ArbaMinch. Meanwhile, Dedebit sent Diredawa Ketema with a 2-0 victory in Addis Ababa. Bahirdar Stadium has hosted the game between Dashen Bira and Hawassa Ketema as they share spoils.
ArbaMinch Ketema came from behind to shock Sidama Bunna.
SidamaBunna took the lead after 7 minutes when Kenyan striker Erick Muranda slotted home from inside area after collecting a pass from Addis Gidey. ArbaMinch restored parity at the half hour mark through Teshome Tadesse. Second half substitute Bereket W/Tsadik struck the second goal 7 minutes from time. Winger Tadele Mengesha converted a late penalty in the stoppage time to snatch the three points.
Shemkit Gugesa bagged a brace as Dedebit notched up victory against Diredawa Ketema. The Easterners dominated possession but were ineffective upfront. Shemkit opened the scoring at 11th minutes when he heads home from close range. He completed his brace in the 28th minute as he drills an astounding long range effort that found the back of the net.
Elsewhere, Dashen Bira held Hawassa Ketema for a barren draw in Bahirdar. Dashen found themselves in the relegation fight for the third year straight.
The result leaves Dedebit in third place on the league standings with 22 points, a point adrift of leaders Kidus Giorgis and second placed Adama Ketema but having played a game. Sidama Bunna and Diredawa Ketema are 4th and 5th with 18 and 17 points respectively. ArbaMinch jumped out of the relegation zone to sit 8th having collected 13 points. Hawassa are 9th with the same point tally as ArbaMinch but inferior in goal difference. Dashen Bira ultimately occupies the relegation zone with Hadiya Hossana.
