Match Week 15 of the Ethiopian Higher League continued across three towns on Friday and Saturday.
Group A
The leaders Ethiopia Nigd Bank managed to get a 3-2 win in a high scoring affair against Butajira Ketema. Brook Bitsuhamlak, Abayneh Fino and Abel Mamush all got on the scoresheet for Nigid Bank while Yosef Dengeto and Dagnachew grabbed the goals for Butajira. The win puts Nigid Bank on 34 points after 15 games.
Bench Maji Bunna beat Jimma Aba Bunna in another 5 goal thriller in Assela. Esubalew Mulugeta scored a brace while Ephrem Tamiru got the other goal. Merwan Raya and Brook Yohannes got on the scoresheet for Jimma Aba Bunna.
Woldia Ketema got a comprehensive 3-0 victory against Wollow Kombolcha and comfortably sit in third place with 33 points. Wollo Kombolcha weren’t able to produce the goods despite playing well. The experienced Woldia Ketema side capitalized on this and won thanks to goals from Muluken Dessalgn, Binyam Teumelisan and Dereje Firew.
In the other games of the group Akaki Kaliti and Addis Ketema drew 0-0, Durame Ketema and Gamo Chencha recorded 1-0 wins against their opponents, and Batu Ketema got a 2-0 win against Sebeta Ketema.
Group B
Addis Ababa Ketema and Shashemene Ketema lead the group after both sides won on Friday. Both sides have 28 points.
Addis Ababa Ketema beat Jinka Ketema thanks to a goal from Tariku Gojele. Getnet Tesfaye’s brace helped Shashemene Ketema beat Kirkos Kifle Ketema 2-0.
The rest of the group games were low scoring as Kafa Bunna, Injibara Ketema and Ambo Ketema all got 1-0 victories. Boditi Ketema beat Nekemte Ketema 2-1. Yirga Chefe Bunna and Nib drew 0-0.
Group C
Leaders Hambericho Durame dropped points as they drew 0-0 with Robe Ketema. Third placed side Silte Worabe on the other hand lost 0-1 to Sodo Ketema as a result of Amanuel Tesfaye’s goal.
Elsewhere Negele Arsi beat Federal Police 2-0, Yeka Kifle Ketema and Damot Ketema drew 2-2. Kolfe Keranio and Jimma Aba Jifar drew 0-0, Dessie Ketema lost 0-1 to Burayu Ketema.
