The second day action of game week 19 saw Mechal shocking league leaders while Ali Sulieman’s Hattrick halted Dire Dawa’s unbeaten run.
The 4pm kickoff saw Hawassa Ketema shocking Dire Dawa and their uplifted fans as they got the better of them to make it two wins in a row.
The Eritrean forward who is in top form in recent weeks once again grabbed the headlines as he carried his side to victory, quick goals in the the space of six minutes in the first half and another deep in the second half were enough for Hawassa while Abduletif Mohammed scored the conciliation goal for Dire in the added minutes.
The win saw Hawassa Ketema climbing into 8th place with 25 points while Dire Dawa who saw their six game unbeaten run halted are now in 9th place with 25 points.
The box office fixture of game week 19 saw second place Mechal edging league leaders Ethiopia Nigd Bank 2-0 to create a parity at the top.
Minyelu Wondimu opened the scoring for Mechal in the 3rd minute while Abel Negash added another in the 6th minute to testify their early dominance.
Ethiopia Nigd Bank who seem to be shocked after conceding twice early on took them long to get going but it was too little too late.
The three points gained today saw Mechal drawing parity with Ethiopia Nigd Bank on 36 points but Nigd Bank remained top with better goal diffrence.
