Welwalo AU have further strengthened their squad with three new signings ahead of their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign, while the date for the start of their pre-season preparations confirmed.
The Ethiopian Cup winners have been active in the ongoing transfer window, balancing key contract renewals with new additions. Having completed their official player registration for continental competition yesterday, the Yellows are set to kick off pre-season training on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The team is preparing for a high-stakes first preliminary round fixture against Sudanese side Al-Hilal Al-Sahil at the end of the month.
To reinforce the squad across multiple positions, Welwalo have secured agreements with Ghanaian midfielder and winger Seth Osei, midfielder Fikadu Asresahegn, and left-back Osman Mohammed.
Seth Osei joins the club following a one-year stint with Bahir Dar Kenema. The versatile attacking player began his career at Eleven Wonders in Ghana before spells with Ghanaian Ashanti Gold and Asante Kotoko, Egyptian side Baladiyat El Mahalla, and Israel’s Hapoel Kfar Saba.
Fikadu Asresahegn arrives from Ethio Electric where he spent two successful seasons. The midfielder played a pivotal role in guiding Hambericho to Ethiopian Premier League promotion Three years ago before maintaining a consistent run in top flight football.
Rounding out the fresh arrivals is left-back Osman Mohammed, who spent the previous campaign representing Menge Belashangul in the Higher League. With pre-season set to begin immediately, all three players are expected to integrate into the squad as Welwalo prepare for their return to CAF competition.
