Ethiopian representative Welwalo Adigrat University has learned the dates and venues for its upcoming CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round fixtures against Sudanese side Al Hilal Al Sahel.
As previously reported the away leg will take place at a neutral venue due to the current security situation in Sudan. That decision has now been fully confirmed with the opening leg scheduled for September 4, 2026 at Pele Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.
For the return fixture, club sources have confirmed that Welwalo will host the Sudanese side on September 12, 2026 at Diredawa Stadium.
CAF has cleared Diredawa Stadium as the sole venue in Ethiopia authorized to host preliminary matches for this season’s interclub competitions.
