Ethiopian Football Federation revealed the forthcoming Russia 2018 World Cup Preliminary Qualifier return leg game against São Tomé and Príncipe will be played at Addis Abeba Stadium.
The National Team will play a friendly game versus Botswana on September 30 at Gaborone. The friendly game was proposed by the Botswana FA as part of the country’s Independence Day celebration. Botswana and Ethiopia were on the same group for the 2014 Brazil World Cup Qualifier. Ethiopia overcame Botswana in Addis thanks to Getaneh Kebede’s last gasp goal. In the return leg Ethiopia beat Botswana 2-1 albeit the result was nullified by FIFA after Walias fielded ineligible player.
Coach Yohannes Sahle will announce his squad next week. The team will start preparation next week at Addis Abeba. Ethiopia national team’s last two home games were held at BahirDar Stadium.
