Dire Dawa Kenema overcame Wolaitta Dicha as Ethiopia Nigd Bank and Sidama Bunna ended their game in one all draw.
The Horsemen had drawn with bitter rivals Ethiopia Bunna on Tuesday in Sheger Derby. The 12 times champions saw off hapless Hadiya Hossana 2-0 courtesy of goals from Ramkel Lok and the veteran Adane Girma.
Dire Dawa completed their back to back win in the Premier League after they upset Wolaitta Dicha away. Fikadu Tadesse struck at stoke of half time to hand the Easterners a precious three points. Dire Dawa were desperately seeking consistency and would be exhilarated with the win.
The game between Ethiopia Nigd Bank and Sidama Bunna ended in stalemate. Veteran striker Andulalem Nigusse gave Sidama the lead in the 74th minute after he converted a controversial penalty. Aneteneh Gibrekirstos headed home from close range to level matters 10 minutes from time.
Week 6 games will continue tomorrow as the surging league leaders Adama Kenema host Dashen Beer. Mekelakeya are at home against the inconsistent Hawasssa Kenema. Dedebit and Ethiopia Bunna will battle it out in the biggest game of week 6.
Adama Kenema tops the log with 13 points whilst Kidus Giorgis are second with the same point but inferior in goal difference. Samuel Sanumi of Dedebit leads the top goal scoring chart with 5 goals.
