Ethiopian champions Kidus Giorgis confirmed today that they have acquired the service of former striker Salahdin Said on a free transfer.
The experienced center forward was a free agent after his contract with Algerian giants MC Alger terminated amicably. Sala penned to paper a two years deal. Sala has been training with the Horsemen for the last one month. Although, Giorgis offered to sign him back in January, he declined the offer in search of a greener pasture in Egypt and Dubai.
Nonetheless, Sala has failed to find club oversees. Dutch coach Mart Nooji expects Sala to be an ideal replacement for the injured Ugandan import Brian Umony. Umony has suffered a femur fracture during an Ethiopian Premier League game against ArbaMinch Ketema.
Sala last played for Kidus Giorgis in 2011 CECAFA Kagame Club Cup as the Horsemen finished 4th. Sala had stints with Egyptian clubs Wadi Degla and Al Ahly. He also had a brief spell with Belgium side Lierse.
