Hawassa and Arbamich Ketema defeated Wolkite Ketema and Bahirdar Ketema in the narrowest margin as game week 19 concluded today.
In the early kickoff, Hawassa Ketema get the better of Wolkite Ketema who are in crisis mode courtesy of a 38th minute solitary strike from last season’s young player of the year, Wondmagege Hailu.
Wolkite struggling with severe administrative issues were making the headlines for the wrong reasons the past few days and their preparation for this match was far from ideal.
In what was a very cagey contest, Wolkite were in command for the entire 90 minutes but their offensive play was not the one that could hurt the opponent while Hawassa Ketema after taking the lead deep in the first half produced an excellent defensive display sitting deep in a very low defensive block to upset Wolkite.
Hawassa Ketema who reacted to their derby day loss are now 2nd on the log seven points adrift from leaders Kidus Giorgis while Wolkite are now 10th with 24 points.
In the late kickoff Arbamich Ketema took all three points at the expense of Bahirdar Ketema, Habib Kemal’s goal proved to be the difference for Arbamich who now sits 7th on the log with 26 points.
Meanwhile, the losing Bahiradr Ketema are now 9th with 24 points.
