Ethiopia’s 2013 Africa Cup outing in South Africa will also mark 31-years since the two teams’ last meeting at the tournament.
The two teams were in the same group at the 1982 tournament held in Libya. Zambia beat Ethiopia 1-0 in their penultimate Group B match in Benghazi on the Chipolopolo’s way to finishing third at the tournament when they beat Algeria 1-0 to collect Bronze. Ethiopia finished bottom of the Group B with one point after a scoreless draw against Algeria.
