Adama Ketema were held to a one all draw at the hands of Sidama Bunna in heavily contested game in Adama Abebe Bikila Stadium. Baye Gezaghen and Mulualem Tilahun gave Mekelakeya a much needed victory over the visiting Diredawa Ketema.
Adama Ketema were held to a 1-1 draw by Sidama Bunna. The visitors stunned the home crowd through Kenyan veteran striker Erick Muranda. Muranda struck in the 7th minute to give Sidama a shocking lead. Sidama were reduced to 10 men when right back Zenebe Kebede sent off.
Adama Ketema had to wait till the 56th minute to restore parity. Tafesse Tesfaye converted a penalty to extended Adama’s unbeaten run to 8 this season. The draw leaves Adama top of the log table with 20 points followed by Kidus Giorgis with 19.
Meklakeya crushed Diredawa Ketema 2-0 with Mulualem Tilahun ending his goal drought.
It only took the Army side 6 minutes to open the score as Baye Gezaghen slots home from inside the area with a clinical finish. Diredawa barely troubled Meklakeya’s backline. Substitute Mulualem Tilahun sinks Diredawa in the 75th minute through a lovely header. Mekalakeya has now leapfrog Diredawa to be 5th with 11 points. The Easterners are 9th with 10 points.
Tafesse Tesfaye leads the top goal scoring chart with 7 goals. Samuel Sanumi and Adane Girma are second after netting 6 goals thus far.
