Day two action of match week 12 saw Ethiopia Bunna and Bahirdar Ketema returning to winning ways inspired by their returnees after their dreadful results in recent weeks.
In the 4 pm kickoff, Ethiopia Bunna boosted by the return of their wonder kid Abubeker Nasser got away with all the three points against Addis Ababa Ketema courtesy of Willian Solomon’s strike in the first half.
Willian in his goal celebration paid tribute to Rayan Oram, a five-year-old boy who passed away a few days ago after being trapped in a well for four days.
Ethiopia Bunna now climbed to 5th in the log with 18 points while Addis Ababa’s drastic drop in form has seen them slip to 14th in the log.
Meanwhile, in the other encounter Bahirdar Ketema was rejuvenated by the return of their head coach Abraham Mebratu, after his duties in AFCON as a technical supervisor for CAF also got their first win at the expense of Hawassa Ketema after three losses in a row.
Goals in each half from Abdulkerim Nikema and Fuad Ferja were enough for Bahirdar who were very aggressive and very much front footed especially in the first half.
Hawassa missed the chance to leapfrog Fasil to rise higher up the log and are currently third with 20 points while winners Bahirdar Ketema climbed to 6th with 17 points.
