Game week 17 kicked off in style as four star Kidus Giorgis humiliate Ethiopia Bunna in the highly anticipated Sheger Derby.
All eyes were on the early kickoff as bitter rival Ethiopia Bunna and Kidus Giorgis once again look horns in the eagerly anticipated Sheger Derby at the Adama Science and Technology University Stadium backed by their colorful supporters in a full house attendance.
On the pitch Kidus Giorgis were too good to handle for Ethiopia Bunna, The Horsemen’s intense pressing made things difficult for Kassaye Arage’s men as their sloppiness in build up was once again seen vividly.
Abel Yalew opened the scoring for Kidus Giorgis moments before the end of the first half and went on to add three more goals in the second half, Chernet Gugsa , Frimpong Mansu, and Addis Gidey were all on the score sheet for rampant Kidus Giorgis.
Addis Gidey scored his third goal in his third cameo appearance for Kidus Giorgis after a lengthy absence due to injury.
Ethiopia Bunna weakness in the attack was once again evident in the derby as they once again failed to register any shot on target.
Flying high Kidus Giorgis maintained their spot at the summit of the log with 37 points while pressure seem to pile on Kassaye Arage and his boys as they currently sit 9th with 21 points.
In the late Kickoff, Sebeta Ketema earned a hard fought three points against Mekelakeya to increase their point tally to double digits also moving out from the bottom of the log.
Ugandan import Derick Nisimbabi opened his goal scoring account for his new side in a fashionable way, netting his first goal in the 87th minute to give his side a second win of the campaign.
Sebeta now with 12 points just moved above Jimma to 15th position while Mekelakeya are 11th with 19 points.
