The 2024/25 Season Ethiopian Premier League came to an end with Ethiopia Medin got their hands on their first ever top-flight league trophy.
as the league season ended today the new champions of the league Ethiopia Medin edge past Sehul Shire with a confortable 3-0 win in the final game of the season, Abubeker Sanni, Wogene Gezahegn and Wancha Tut all on target for Gebremedhin Haile’s side.
Ethiopian Medin, led by Manager Gebremedin Haile, took part in 34 games winning 22, losing 5 and drawing 7 times and landing the ball in the opposition’s net 49 times accompanied by an outstanding 73 points to win the league.
Medin, established in 1982, lifted the top-flight league trophy for the first time in their entire club history.
Wolwalo Adigrat University, Sihul Shire, Adama Ketema, and Mekele 70 Enderta are the teams that relegated to the Ethiopian Higher League and will be replaced by Sheger Ketema and Negele Arsi for the next season.
The Ethiopian Medin captain Hayder Sherefa awarded as the best player of the season. meanwhile Hawassa’s talisman Ali Suleiman crowned top scorer of the season for the second season in a row netting 21 goals. The goal keeper of the year award also goes to Ethiopia Medin goalkeeper Abubeker Nura for the second season in a row. Ethiopia Bunna’s youngster Yitagesu Tariku awarded with young player of the season while Manuhe Weledetsadik and Mustafa Meki awarded the best referee and assistant referee of the season.
