The Ethiopian Football Federation has officially announced a kit partnership with Macron for the men’s and women’s national teams on Tuesday evening during a launch event held at the Sheraton Addis Hotel.
EFF CEO Bahiru Tilahun and International Liaison Officer Yohannes Zewdu presented the details of the deal during a media briefing held ahead of the main ceremony. Under the agreement the italian sportswear company Macron will supply sportswear worth more than €50,000 to the national teams at no cost. The Federation will also benefit from a 60% discount on all Macron products it purchases.
The partnership includes performance based incentives. Qualification for AFCON will earn the national team a €15,000 material bonus while qualification for World Cup will result in a €20,000 material bonus.
The agreement will run for two years with an option for a one year extension. Kloud Out, the official Macron representative for East Africa will open retail shops in Ethiopia allowing local access to Macron products.
The launch ceremony was attended by former star Bakary Sagna alongside federation officials, football legends, current players and coaches, influencers, partners and invited guests.
The Ethiopian national team has previously worn kits supplied by Adidas, Errea, Umbro and local brand Gofere. Since last year the Federation has introduced its own domestic brand Hagere. EFF confirmed that Hagere will continue to be used by national teams outside the senior men’s and Women’s side.
