The Ethiopia Football Federation has announced that CAF has granted temporary approval to Diredawa International Stadium.
Following Ethiopia’s request to host its home matches inside the country, a CAF stadium inspection delegation visited the venue on Wednesday February 26 to assess its readiness. After completing their evaluation, the delegation approved the stadium to host Ethiopia’s upcoming fixture against the São Tomé and Príncipe national football team.
The federation confirmed that the temporary approval applies only to the return leg match scheduled for the end of March, which will be played behind closed doors.
Following the approval, the Ethiopia national team is set to play on home soil for the first time in five years.
