Sheger Enter Transfer Market with Four New Signings and Contract Extension

Sheger City have officially made their move in the transfer window to bolster their squad for the upcoming campaign, securing verbal agreements with four new players alongside a key contract extension.

Having appointed interim coach Iyasu Merhatsidk as their permanent head coach, Sheger moved quickly to reinforce the team.

Abnet Demissie headlines the new additions choosing Sheger as his next destination. The high earning midfielder spent last season with Hawassa Ketema, but after requesting to part ways with the club despite having a year left on his contract, he reached an agreement with the Lakeside side to move on.

Melesse Mishamo also joins as a key signing in midfield. The former Burayou SC midfielder spent the last four seasons at Hadiya Hossana before committing his future to Sheger City.

Attacking midfielder Fuad Fereja is another major addition. Fuad previously featured for Adama, Bahir Dar, and CBE, where he was part of the squad that clinched the league title. After being sidelined by injury setbacks in recent seasons, the talented playmaker is set for a fresh start with Sheger.

Rounding off the new acquisitions is defender Biruk Bayissa who arrives following the completion of his spell with the relegated side Arbaminch ketema.

Alongside the four incoming transfers, defender Gezahegn Desalegn has committed his future to the club by signing a two-year contract extension. The defender who began his career at Ethiopia Bunna before featuring for Shashemene and Legetafo Legedadi, put pen to paper following a solid campaign with Sheger City last season.
