As they prepare for next season’s Maiden African Campaign and league journey Welwalo has extended the contract of their super-sub and secured a Ghanian forward on loan.
Beyene Banja has agreed to extend his contract for an additional year. Rising through the Afro Zion U-17 team, Beyene showcased his exceptional talent at Ethiopia Bunna U-20 and with the Ethiopian U-17 and U-20 national teams. Following stints with Gelan and Hadiya Hossana, he has now chosen to extend his stay with the Yellows where he spent the past season. Beyene scored after coming off the bench in Welwalo’s Ethiopian Cup final victory.
Ghanian forward Abdul Rahman Mohammed has joined the Yellows. Abdul Rahman joined Arbaminch on loan from Ghana’s Medeama SC midway through last season, enjoying a successful spell where he netted four goals for the Crocodiles. He now moves to Welwalo on a new one-year loan deal.
His previous career highlights include playing for Tanzania’s TRA and winning the MTN FA Cup with Nsoatreman FC. At his new club he is expected to replace his compatriot Hafiz Konkoni who recently departed for Halaba.
Welwalo has previously reached agreements to sign Eyob Alemayehu, Bereket Samuel, Carlos Damtew and Mamadou Sek.
