Busy Day for Hawassa in the Transfer Market

Hawassa Ketema enjoyed an active day in the transfer market by securing new arrivals who were plying their trade at Hadiya Hossana last season, alongside key contract extensions.

Biruk Beyene has completed a return to his boyhood club. After developing through Hawassa’s youth system all the way to the first team, Biruk went on to feature for Ethiopia Bunna before spending the past two seasons at Hadiya Hossana. He has now finalized an agreement to rejoin Temesgen Dana’s side.

Promising defender Kaleab Wubshet has officially joined Hawassa Ketema on a two year contract. Kaleab started his football career at Hadiya Hossana and spent six years with the Tigers progressing from the youth side to the senior team. Hawassa becomes the second club of his professional career.

Midfielder Musse Kebela has also agreed to join the Lakers on a two year deal following an impressive spell with Hadiya Hossana. Having previously played for Ethiopia Bunna, Adama, Electric and Hadiya Hossana, Musse’s good performances this past season earned him his first call up to the Ethiopian national team.

In addition to their new signings, the Lakers have secured two year contract extensions for four of their homegrown products. Goalkeeper Mintesinot Ginbo, versatile left back and defensive midfielder Biruk Tadele, midfielder Natnael Shagamo, and Right back Sisay Gacho have all agreed to stay with their parent club for another two years.
