Bahir Dar Kenema have officially launched their summer transfer business by securing agreements to bring two player into the squad.
Ethiopian football legend Shimeles Bekele is set to make the Tana Waves his new home. Despite having one year remaining on his contract with Hawassa Ketema, the veteran midfielder recently submitted a release request and reached a mutual agreement to leave the club, with Soccer Ethiopia confirming his move to Bahir Dar Kenema.
Having launched his career at Hawassa before moving to St. George, Shimeles spent over a decade abroad playing for Sudani Al Merrikh and Libyan Al Ittihad, followed by prominent spells in Egypt with Petrojet where he served as captain, El Gouna, Misr Lel Makkasa and ENPPI. Since returning to domestic football, the former national team star has featured for Mechal and spent a season back at his boyhood club Hawassa before now agreeing terms with Bahir Dar.
Winger Kitika Jima has been confirmed as the second summer addition for the Tana Waves.
Kitika previously played for Ethiopia Bunna, Gelan, Medhin, and CBE. He split the past season between Mekelle 70 Enderta and Negele Arsi, spending the final six months with the latter before agreeing to join Bahir Dar Ketema.
