Adama Ketema have made significant moves in the transfer market, agreeing to terms with Fitsum Alemu and appointing legendary former Saint George and Walias captain Degu Debebe as assistant coach.
Hardworking attacking midfielder Fitsum Alemu is set to join Adama following successful negotiations between the two parties. Fitsum began his career at Dessie and enjoyed stints with Fasil Kenema, Bahir Dar Ketema, and Mechal. Despite Mekelle 70 Enderta’s relegation to the Higher League last season, Fitsum delivered a impressive individual campaign. As his next destination was widely anticipated, sources confirm that an agreement is now in place for him to represent Adama next season.
In addition to squad reinforcement, legendary defender Degu Debebe has officially joined Adama City’s coaching staff as an assistant coach, reuniting with newly appointed head coach Fasil Tekalign.
Degu previously worked as an assistant coach at Hadiya Hossana and now joins Fasil’s technical bench at Adama. The pair share a long and decorated history at Saint George (Kidus Giorgis), where Fasil served as head and assistant coach between 2008 and 2017 while Degu captained the side through a silverware-laden era.
