Ethiopian international forward Mesay Temesgen is closing in on her transfer to Tanzanian Premier League side Yanga Princess, Soccer Ethiopia can confirm.
The Ethiopia Nigd Bank (CBE) and national team forward is currently undergoing her medical examinations in Tanzania. According to information obtained by Soccer Ethiopia from her management agency Taza Sports Management, Mesay is expected to finalize and officially sign her contract within the next few hours.
Mesay developed through the Ethiopian Sport Academy before featuring domestically for Ethio Electric, Mechal, and CBE. She has represented the Ethiopian women’s national team across all age groups and played a pivotal role in CBE’s 2024 CECAFA Women’s Champions League title triumph, where she was named Player of the Tournament.
Her move further cements the growing contingent of Ethiopian talent in the Tanzanian women’s top flight. At Yanga Princess, Mesay will unite with fellow Ethiopian international Aregash Kalsa, while national teammate Senaf Wakuma currently features for rival side Simba Queens.
