The last two fixtures before the break saw two fixtures of huge importance ending in a draw.
In the early kickoff, Fasil Kenema and Bahir Dar Ketema played out a goalless draw in the highly anticipated derby.
Bahir Dar made two changes from the side that outclassed Wolkite Ketema as the changes saw Firew Solomon and Cherenet Guggsa who missed the last game returning into the starting 11 in place of Abayneh Fino and Adem Abas while Fasil Kenema made a single change at peft back position where Yonatan Fiseha made way for Eyob Matias.
In what was a very tense derby match Fasil Kenema had the upper hand in creating an offensive threat while Bahir Dar’s silky passing move didn’t create much.
The draw ensured Fasil Kenema 4th place with 9 points going into the break while Bahir Dar claimed 7th spot with 8 points.
In the late kickoff, Wolaita Dicha twice came from behind to earn a draw against Ethiopia Bunna.
Ethiopia Bunna made two changes from the side that lost to Fasil Kenema as Amauel Admassu and Ramkel changes were on from the start in place of Mesfin Tafesse and Wondmeneh Dereje meanwhile Wolaita Dicha who also lost to Mechal in game week 4 also made a couple of changes with Baye Gezahegne and Asnake Amtatatw rested as Zelalem Abate and Kenedy Kebede got the nod.
In what was a very fascinating game of football the two sides did their best to run away with all three points, it was Ethiopia Bunna who took the lead just before half time through Ugandan defender Wassawa Jeofrey but soon after the restart, Abinet Demisse leveled matters for Wolaita Dicha.
Once again Ethiopia Bunna got the edge through Amanuel Admassu but yet again Dicha leveled matters through Biniyam Fikre’s successful spot kick.
The draw left Both Ethiopia Bunna and Wolaita Dicha in 8th and 9th place with respective 8 and 7 points.
