Hadiya Hossana recorded their first win of the campaign while Yared Bayeh’s resurrection seals the victory for Bahir Dar on the second day actions of game week 8.
In the early kickoff, Hadiya Hossana shocked Fasil Kenema as they went on to claim their first win of the campaign with a marginal scoreline.
Goals were hard to come by in the first half but the second half witnessed three goals, Hadiya fired early with two crucial goals in the space of six minutes through Temesgen Birhanu in the 46th and Girma Bekele in the 52nd minute.
Fasil Kenema pulled one back through Fikadu Alemu in the 87th minute but it was too little too late.
After the return of the premier league following the last international break Fasil Kenema suffered two successive setbacks to their title aspirations are now 5th with 12 points meanwhile Hadiya Hossana who waited for 8 games to claim their first win climbed into 11th place with 8 points.
Bahir Dar Ketema continued their winning streak as they made it three wins in a row with the same score line of 2-1, this time out they edged Dire Dawa Ketema in the late kickoff of day two action.
In what was an eventful match the man on top form Firaol Mengistu was once again on the score sheet giving Bahir Dar Ketema the lead in the 33rd minute but Dire finished the half on level terms through an own goal from Yared Bayeh.
In what was a cagey second half finding the back of the net was a huge ask for both sides but eventually, Bahir Dar Ketema found the winning goal in the 90th minute, Yared Bayeh who was to be blamed for the own goal rectified his error netting the crucial goal from the spot.
The win lifted Bahir Dar Ketema into 3rd place with 17 points while Dire Dawa Ketema are 9th with 8 points.
