Shashemene Ketema got their first win of the campaign while Kidus Giorgis dig deep to ease past Fasil to wrap up the game week.
In what was a clash between two of the promoted sides Shashemene Ketema got the better of Hambericho to earn their long awaited three points in top flight football for the first time after 18 years.
The past few weeks have seen an uplift in Shashemene’s performance but they failed to replicate that into points only collecting three draws in the spin but today marked a change in fortunes.
Henok Delibe and Mintesnote Kebede were on the score sheet in the first half meanwhile Allen Kayiwa added another goal late in the second half to wrap up what was a very good day for Shashemene Ketema.
The win meant Shashemene remains 15th but are now two points away from safety collecting seven points while losers Hambericho reamins bottom with only three points.
In the highly anticipated fixture of the week, Amanuel Erbo’s 78th minute strike was the difference as Kidus Giorgis edge Fasil Kenema.
In the first half both sides were only restricted in having the ball but failed to create clear cut chances.
In the second half Fasil Kenema were reduced to 10 men after their energetic full back Alembirhane Yigzaw was sent off in the 63rd minute after his reckless challenge on Tegenu Teshome.
This led the horsemen to grow even more into the game and eventually went on to get the winning goal, Amanuel Erbo was the hero for the horsemen as he netted the match wining goal in the 78th minute.
Following today’s crucial win Kidus Giorgis climb into the third spot with 21 points while Fasil Kenema are fifth with 18 points.
