In the early kickoff of four goals thriller Fasil Kenema and Sidama Bunna played out a two all draw.
In what was a very lively game of football goals in quick succession decided the game, Micheal Kiprol opened the scoring for Sidama Bunna in the 43rd minute after Fasil’s goalie Yidnekachew Kidane made a huge mistake in controlling a back pass. But Kalkidan Zelalem was quick to react to his teammates’ rescue scoring the equalizing goal in the added minutes.
In the second half it was Fasil’s turn to take the lead as Amaslau Tilahun who cam on seconds prior scored directly from a wide free kick but yet again Sidama restored parity five minutes later through Micheal Kiprol.
The draw means Fasil missed on a huge opportunity to reduce their deficit with league leaders Kidus Giorgis, they now now sit 4th with 30 points while Sidama Bunna are 12th with 20 points.
The closing fixture of game week 18 saw Ethiopia Medhin earning a hard fought point against Wolaita Dicha.
The first half was some how equally poised between the two sides as both sides opted to play a expansive football but as always their final third execution was letting both sides down.
Ethiopia Medhin gave Abubeker Sani and Abdisa Jemal their full debut after they switched aligence but Abdisa’s debut only lasted 35 minutes as he was shown a straight red card for his aggressive play.
Wolaita Dicha had a brave start to the second half and eventually went ahead in the 53rd minute through the youngster Bisrat Bekele.
Ethiopia Medhin who were chasing the game a man light found the equalizing goal in the 72nd minute after Amir Mudesir converted from the spot.
Minutes latter Wolaita Dicha were also reduced into 10 men as Anteneh Gugsa was sent off in the 75th minute, Anteneh’s sending off seem to give Medhin a believe but Wolaita Dicha went ahead in remarkable fashion.
The youngster Bisrat Bekele was once again on target for his side netting another goal in the 81st minute after a shamble in Medhin’s defense but Mohammed Abera who was being scrutinized for Medhin’s recent lost points netted a well deserved equalizing goal in the added minutes.
The draw saw Wolaita Dicha sit in 11th place with 24 points while Ethiopia Medhin who still need to find a way to rescue their season remained 13th with 14 points.
