Turkish side Gençlebirliği today officially terminated the contract of Ethiopian defender Walid Atta in a mutual consent.
Atta joined the Ankara side from BK Häcken on April 2015 in a three years deal but lack of playing time triggered him to call it off his stay in the capital.
The soft spoken Ethiopian international also confirmed to Soccer Ethiopia he parted ways with the club. Atta speaking exclusively to Soccer Ethiopia earlier this week stated his desire to leave the Winds of Ankara after only managing 4 appearances throughout the season.
Gençlebirliği are struggling in the league table currently sitting 16th. The club made headlines for their infamous firing and hiring of coaches. Gençlebirliği recentely relieved Yilmaz Vural from the helm. Yilmaz is the fifth coach to be sacked from the club in this season.
