kidus Giorgis (Saint George) have had a busy couple of days in the transfer market reaching agreements to bring in five new players while renewing the contracts of two existing squad members.
Young center back Binyam Bekele has agreed to join Giorgis on a two year deal. Starting his journey in the Mechal youth setup before progressing to Ethio Electric’s main squad, Binyam established himself as a reliable defender by featuring in 33 matches this past season.
The 2025/26 league’s joint top scorer Natnael Daniel is also heading to the historic club on a two-year contract. Natnael finished the season with 15 goals alongside Tamirat Iyasu. After starting out at Shone Ketema and shining at Bench Maji Bunna, he earned a move to CBE where he enjoyed a successful spell before opting to join Horsemens.
Higher League star Bilal Gemeda has completed his move on a three-year contract. Emerging from Harbu Ketema, Bilal has built up solid experience through spells at Kefa Bunna, Halaba Ketema, Kombolcha, and most recently Dessie Ketema where he impressed throughout the season.
Left back Yared Yemane is another key addition, agreeing to a two year deal following a stellar campaign with Ethio Electric. Having spent years at his boyhood club where he made 36 appearances last season and earned a spot in Soccer Ethiopia’s Team of the Season, this move to Kidus Giorgis marks only the second club of his career.
Young midfielder Biruk Belachew has also joined the Horsemen on a two-year deal. Rising through the Wolaitta Dicha youth ranks before moving to Ethiopia medhin where he successfully transitioned from a winger into a central midfielder.
Meanwhile defender and captain Biruk Tarekegn will remain with the team after agreeing to a two-year extension. A consistent pillar in defense since promoting from the youth setup.
The Horsemen have also extended the contract of winger Tsega Kedir for another two years. The talented attacker, who joined the club two years ago after a stint with Halaba Ketema, will continue his stay with the club.
These moves come alongside previously secured agreements for Biruk Endale and Temesgen Birhanu.
