CBE Enter Transfer Market with Two New Signings and Six Extensions

The 2023/24 champions CBE (Nigd Bank) have kicked off their transfer market activity by securing two new signings and extending the contracts of six players.

Muluken Adisu becomes CBE’s first signing of the transfer window following two outstanding seasons with Wolaitta Dicha. The experienced player who has featured for Negele Arsi, Gelan, Addis Ababa, Medhin, Sidama Bunna and Wolaitta Dicha, has agreed to a two year deal. The move reunites him with head coach Betsetlot, under whom he previously played at Gelan Town.

Promising midfielder Eyob Tesfaye has also committed his future to the Purples on a two year contract. Having developed his career through the youth setup at Wolaitta Dicha, CBE will mark only the second senior club of his career.

Midfielder Biniyam Kasahun has agreed to stay with the club for two more years. Biniyam rose through the youth ranks at Ethiopia Bunna before playing for Gelan and later helping both Ethiopia Medhin and Ethio Electric earn promotion to the Premier League. After spending the past two seasons with CBE, he now extends his stay through 2026/27.

Left back Tamirat Tesfaye has also put pen to paper on a one year extension. Following previous spells at Wolaitta Dicha, Ethiopian Medhin and Bahir Dar Ketema, Tamirat was instrumental in leading CBE to their league title and will remain a fixture in the squad for the upcoming campaign.

Biruk Betsehamlak has confirmed he will stay for another season. Biruk played a pivotal role in bringing CBE up to the top flight and has remained a consistent performer over the last three years in the Premier League.

Additionally three standout players who earned promotion from youth ranks have extended their contracts for another year after earning their spots in the senior side. Goalkeeper Amanuel Desta, right back Abenezer Teklu, and talented midfielder Yohannes Kidane are the players set to stay at the club.
