The opening day fixtures of game week 13 saw Mechal shocking Bahir Dar Ketema while Hadiya Hossana were held to a goalless draw against Ethio Electric.

Duressa Shubisa opened the scoring for the wave of Tana in the 39th minute but Behailu Girma levelled matters with a hell of goal just before halftime. After the restart it took only four minutes for Mechal to claim the lead through Bereket Desta but in a matter of minutes Bahir Dar restored parity via Osi Mawli, The end to end action packed second half continued in an intensified manner but Kenean Markneh minutes after caming from bench scored from the edge of the box to give Mechal the much needed point in the 73rd minute.
Mechal who now have two wins in their last three games moved into 8th position with 16 points while Bahir Dar Ketema now winless in their last three matches remain 3rd with 22 points.
In the late kickoff of less footballing spectacle Hadiya Hossana and Ethio Electric played out a goalless draw, Hadiya Hossana seem the dominant side in the entirety but the match where three attempts on target were registered ended in a draw.
Hadiya Hossana are still 4th with 20 points while Ethio Electric now with 8 points still remain in the relegation zone having played superior games to rivals.
