Reigning Ethiopian champions Fasil Kenema were once again stunned, this time they lost to Wolkite Ketema and jeopardize their dream for back to back titles while Hadiya Hossana returned to winning ways.
In the early kickoff, Wolkite Ketema two goals in quick succession were enough to upset holders Fasil Ketema.
Chala Teshita opened the scoring for Wolkite after a breathtaking exchange of passes in the buildup to the goal, few minutes later Getaneh Kebede scored the second after he dispossess Yared Bayeh in a very dangerous position.
Shemeket Guggsa pulled one back for Fasil in the 35th minute but Wolkite Ketema’s excellent game management in the second half was enough to hand them a much needed three point.
Wolkite Ketema now with 24 points climbed to 6th, while Fasil Ketema are 4th 10 points off leaders Kidus Giorgis.
The late kickoff saw Hadiya Hossana edge past Bahirdar Ketema to collect three points after four games.
Bahirdar Ketema seems to be the dominant side in the entirety but purposeful Hadiya got away with all the three points thanks to Frezer Kassa’s headed goal.
Bahirdar and Hadiya Hossana reside 8th & 9th in the log with the same 21 points.
