The last day actions of game week 20 saw Fasil Kenema climbing to 2nd in the log with a narrow win over Arbamich Ketema while Hadiya Hossana stunned Hawassa Ketema.
In the 4 pm kickoff, Bezabih Meleyo was once again to Fasil Kenema’s rescue as his 62nd minute delicious finish was enough for his side to defeat the stubborn Arbaminch Ketema.
The offensive midfielder is now the joint top scorer with Okiki Afolabi for Fasil Ketema with six goals.
In the late kickoff of greater importance, Hawassa Ketema once again failed to maintain the pressure on league leaders Kidus Giorgis as they suffered a shocking 3-1 loss at the hands of Hadiya Hossana.
Hadiya opened the scoring through Habtamu Tadesse in the early minutes but Tebarek Hefamo leveled matters for Hawassa a few minutes later.
In the second half, both sides showed the desire to take all the three points but Hadiya were better equipped with personnel and strategy, Fikreyesus T/Birhan’s goal in the 51st minute, and an own goal from Kaluji Mondia sealed the deal for Hadiya.
With each passing game week, the chasing pack seems to lose momentum while Kidus Giorgis is capitalizing from the slip in the chasing pack.
This week’s turn for being second has gone to Fasil Ketema as they are now on 34 points, 10 behind leaders while Hawassa are 3rd after being level on points with Fasil but have an inferior goal difference.
