Ethiopian international midfielder Habtamu Tekeste has agreed to terms with Ethiopia Bunna, becoming the club’s fourth high-profile acquisition of the transfer window.
Habtamu boasts a rich domestic resume, having launched his career at Dashin Beer before featuring for Debrebirhan and Mekelle 70 Enderta. He spent the past seven years with Fasil Kenema, where he helped lead the team to Ethiopian Premier League, Ethiopian Cup, and Ethiopian Super Cup titles.
The midfielder’s move marks another major milestone in his career following a long, challenging illness that kept him sidelined for several months during his time at Fasil Kenema. He successfully fought his way back to full fitness, re-establishing his form on the pitch to secure a permanent spot in the national team before agreeing to join the Browns.
His signing comes amid a comprehensive squad rebuild at Ethiopia Bunna under new head coach Gebremedhin Haile. Habtamu follows the earlier arrivals of Abubakar Nura, Bereket Woldeyohannes, and Abdulsalam Yusuf as the club aggressively strengthens its squad for the upcoming campaign.
