As they continue rebuilding their squad, Ethiopia Bunna have secured their fifth new signing of the window while reaching agreements to extend the contracts of five crucial squad members.
Defender Diladdis Gebre has become Bunna’s fifth new addition. Having spent the last two seasons with Diredawa, Diladdis previously built his career playing in the Higher League with Kirkos and Debre Birhan.
The club has agreed to a contract extension with forward Amanuel Admasu for an additional year. After progressing from Harar City’s youth team to Ethiopia Bunna’s U20 squad, Amanuel has served the senior team for the past four years and has now agreed to prolong his stay with the club.
Defender Rejeb Miftah has also agreed to remain with the side for another year. roseRose from the club’s youth system, Rejeb went on to play for Bench Maji Bunna in the Higher League before moving to Bahir Dar Kenema. He returned to his boyhood club two years ago and will now continue for another season.
Young midfielder Ermias Shumbeza is another player who has agreed to extend his stay. Having started his journey at Wolkite, the midfielder has spent the last four years rising through Bunna’s ranks from the youth system to the senior team.
Yitagesu Tariku will likewise continue with his parent club. The 2024/25 Premier League Young Player of the Year, who started his career in the club’s youth team has consistently delivered strong performances for the senior side and has now agreed to stay for an additional year.
Furthermore, Ethiopia Bunna have reached an agreement to extend the contract of Divine Nwachukwu. The Nigerian midfielder joined from Bendel Insurance two years ago and after a standout first campaign, rebounded from a brief drop in form last season to reclaim his starting spot and finish the year strongly. He has now agreed to stay with the club for another year.
These developments follow Ethiopia Bunna’s earlier appointment of head coach Gebremedhin Haile, alongside secured deals to sign Abubakar Nura, Bereket Woldeyohannes, Abdulsalam Yusuf, and Habtamu Tekeste.
