Halaba Ketema have secured the signing of two new players alongside contract renewals for four key squad members as they prepare for the maiden top-flight campaign.
Firew Solomon makes a return to his hometown side after spending last season at Welwalo where he featured in 35 league matches and captained the side to Ethiopian Cup victory. The experienced midfielder previously turned out for Halaba Ketema, Muger Cement, Mechal, Hawassa, Wolkite, Sidama Coffee, and Bahir Dar City before his spell at Welwalo. He now rejoins the newcomers to bolster their central midfield options.
Halaba have also added forward Fisseha Tomas to their frontline. Fisseha brings notable experience across the Ethiopian football pyramid, having had prior spells with Adama, Wolkite, Areka, Injibara, and most recently Debre Birhan.
Winger Tsega Derbe has agreed to a one-year renewal. A local product who returned to Halaba last season following periods at the Youth Sports Academy, Ethio Electric, and Dessie, Tsega played a vital role in securing the club’s promotion.
Goalkeeper Abatu Jarso has also renewed his commitment after joining from Sheger City last season and establishing himself as a crucial presence between the posts throughout their successful promotion push.
Skilful midfielder Fasil Abebayehu has signed a one-year extension following his standout performances last season, while key player Yared Mohammed has committed for an additional year.
These completed deals follow Halaba’s earlier transfer business, which saw them reach agreements to sign foreign recruits Hafiz Konkoni, Kaleb Amankwah, and Samba Sek.
