Welwalo Sign Senegalese Goalkeeper, Renew Contracts for Three Players

Ethiopian Cup winners Welwalo AU have reached an agreement to sign a Senegalese goalkeeper while securing the future of three existing squad members.

Senegalese shot stopper Amath Fall has agreed to join the Yellows. The 23 year old previously played in the Senegalese Ligue 1 for Sonacos and AS Pikine. During his time with Pikine, a side known for having one of the league’s strongest defensive records with Fall featured in 24 matches and keeping an impressive 14 clean sheets. He arrives to replace Ugandan goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa who enjoyed a successful spell with Welwalo last season before returning home to join Kitara FC.

Kim Lam has agreed to a contract extension. After leaving Sheger City to join Welwalo last season on a one year deal, the defender who originated from the Mechal youth system has previously featured for Batu, Nib, and Sheger City. He officially finalized his contract extension at the Ethiopian Football Federation office yesterday.

Additionally Welwalo have tied down two promising young talents. Right back Nahom Hailemariam and goalkeeper Natnael Kidane have both agreed to terms to continue their development with their parent club.

Welwalo are expected to officially complete these signings and submit their registered squad to CAF today ahead of the Confederation Cup submission deadline.
