The Ethiopian Cup winners have reached an agreement to secure the services of former Hadiya Hossana winger Eyob Alemayehu.
Welwalo Adigrat University have kicked off their summer transfer strategy by agreeing to terms with forward Eyob Alemayehu following days of negotiations. The Yellows are actively bolstering their squad ahead of a historic maiden appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup alongside their upcoming domestic league and cup campaigns.
The transfer caps off a productive week for Welwalo as they recently secured head coach Girma Tadesse to a new contract before extending central defender Netsanet Gebremedhin for another year.
Eyob’s move to Welwalo sees him reunite with manager Girma Tadesse. The pair worked together during the 2024/25 season at Hadiya Hossana.
promoted through Wolaitta Dicha youth ranks, Eyob made his senior team breakthrough in 2016. Over his career, the wide attacker has accumulated vast top-flight experience across several Ethiopian Premier League clubs including Wolaitta Dicha, Jimma Aba Jifar, Hawassa Ketema and Hadiya Hossana.
