The DireDawa Kenema striker’s goal took the club back to the premier league. His 6 goals were decisive for DireDawa throughout the campaign. During the first opening game of the national league versus Arsi Negele he was on the bench until 10 minutes remaining. He was introduced in the last 10 minutes that persuaded coach Meseret to hand him the front line. He didn’t disappoint her since then. After that the rest is history. He started all the remaining games.
“At the start of the tourney I was not a starter. I worked hard and it paid off. I always give everything tn my club. This helped me to be successful in the tourney.” said the brilliant Belay Abayneh. Belay added “Our journey at the national league has ended. Now we will work hard to be more competitive in the premier league. I am ready to deliver for my team.”
Belay Abayneh leads the top goal scoring chart with 6 goals. As it stands he has a good opportunity of ending the tourney as a top goal scorer.
