The Ethiopian national team stepped up their preparation ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier away game against Indian Ocean island Seychelles. The national team has been preparing at Addis after the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Rwanda in a friendly game last Friday. Yesterday the team had training at the Addis Ababa Stadium.
The team had training session at Abebe Bikila Memorial Stadium in the morning. The game between Ethiopian and Seychelles will be held at Stade Linite. The Stadium is an artificial turf pitch. Hence, head coach Yohannes Sahle opted to prepare at Abebe Bikila Memorial Stadium which is also an artificial turf pitch. All players including those who play their trade abroad took part in the training session. Walid Atta and Saladhin Said joined the team for the preparation for the first time today. Both players were in their respective clubs before coming to Addis for national duty.
Coach Yohannes Sahle is expected to cut his squad before the team departs to Seychelles. The coach will exclude 8 players.
The team will fly out to Victoria, Seychelles on Wednesday. Seychelles will take on Ethiopia on the coming Saturday in the 2nd game of the qualifier. Ethiopia beat Lesotho 2-1 on the opening game at Bahirdar.
