Premier League new comers Hossana Kenema ready to start the new season by keeping important players. The club extended the contracts of Dula Mulatu, Habte Keder, Henok Arefechow, Ayele Tesfaye, Tizera Abutae, Webeshet Alemayehu, Negatu Durea, Tarekegn Tebebu, Habtamu Gebreegziabher and Abebaw Tamiru. Hossana till now didn’t make a major acquisition. According to head coach Girma Tadesse the club is scouting talented youth players. “I don’t want to sign a player that spent on the bench. I need a player who strives to be a great player. The important thing is we afford to keep many players. Within the coming few days we expect to sign new players from Sidama Bunna and Hawassa Kenema.” Girma said.
In Hossana’s quest for promotion to the Premier League Tewodros Mengesha played a key role. The player reportedly joined Wolitta Dicha in spite of the fact that Hossana is negotiating to sign Tewodros back. “Tewodros’s case has become increasingly worrisome. Wolitta Dicha signed him after his performance on the first National League group stage game. As far as I know he signed the contract at the state Football Federation only meaning we still can snatch him if we put a lucrative deal.” explained the Hossana boss.
The coach further said the team will start pre-season after the Ethiopian New Year. “We will start prepartion on the days between September 13-15. We will prepare well to be a strong competitors in the Premier League. We learnt a thing or two from Woldia. So we will try to put an extra bit of effort to stay in the league.” Coach Girma told Soccer Ethiopia.
