Hossana Kenema achieved a historic promotion to the Ethiopian Premier league today in a comprehensive victory over rivals Halaba Kenema 3 nil. It was an outstanding performance from the Hadiya club to overcome Halaba. It is Hossana’s first ever promotion to the top flight making then the 43re club to take part in the Premier league.
The passionate Hossana Kenema head coach Girma Tadesse told Soccer Ethiopia Hossana’s esoteric to success and his happiness for getting promotion. “I have been coaching Hossana for the past 9 years. It has been my dream for years to take this team to the premier league. I am so pleased with the win.” Coach Girma added, “The secret to our success is that we build a team that plays possession based football. The winning spirit and courage of my players brought us into premier league. Since we stayed together for many years I am well aware of their needs and style of play. Our team’s strong bond is what got us the much needed success.”
Hossana Kenema will face a lot of hurdles in the premier league. Likewise coach Girma insisted there is a room for change. “I can not say my team is absolute. There are a number of things that we should work on. We will try to do things in order for us to stay at the top flight longer. We are so ready for that.”
