Ethiopian Football Federation and state owned Television and Radio Corporation EBC signed a memorandum of understanding that will enable the corporation to showcase selected Premier League games and Ethiopian men and women national team home and away international games yesterday at EBC meeting hall.
The Ethiopian Premier League, restructured in 1998, never had television coverage. During the 2010/11 season few matches were broadcasted including the last game between the then champions Ethiopia Bunna and Mugher Cement. The Ethiopian Super Cup in 2012 between archrivals Kidus Giorgis and Ethiopia Bunna also had live television coverage.
According to EFF the agreement will be discussed with clubs in the near future. The selected games will be broadcasted on EBC 3.
