Wolaitta Dicha lost some key players in the summer transfer window but now the club confirmed it has landed a deal to sign 10 new players.
Wolaitta Dicha signed Hossana’s Tewodros Mengesha, Addis Ababa Ketema’s Amanuel Eshetu, Sululta’s Thomas Semretu, Batu’s Dagim and Halaba’s Kerim Jemal.
Dedebit left back Solomon Habte likewise completed his move to Wolaitta Dicha. Solomon joining Dicha came as a surprise for many. Solomon has impressed at Dedebit last season. However, the recent performance of Tekalegn Dejene might have tempted Solomon to leave Dedebit. Meanwhile, Endale Meleyo returned to Dicha.
Dicha apart from signing new players extended the contracts of its players. Goalkeeper Asrat Mishamo, defenders Anagew Badege, Teklu Tafesse, midfielder Yosef Dengito and center forward Alazar Fasika are among the players who extended their stay with Dicha.
Head coach Mesay Teferi exclusively spoke to Soccer Ethiopia. The coach said the club lost key players but brought some good replacements. “We lost important players. However, it is prudent to give opportunity to new players. We signed players who are strong and good enough to play in the Premier League and started preparation having 32 players. Until now I am seeing a glimpse of hope from the team. Despite many question will be asked till the new season kicks off.” Mesay said.
Wolitta Dicha started preseason preparation at Sodo. They will face Hawassa Kenema, who lost 4-1 to Ethiopia Bunna last Saturday on a friendly game, on EFF Cup semi final in September 22 at Addis Ababa Stadium.
